Plans for developing a new Health & Care centre in Brampton are beginning to take shape. A report will be made to the Brampton Neighbourhood Forum on Monday 15 September at 7pm in Brampton Junior School. For the first time this report will start to show the range of facilities which will be included in the new building. And those which won’t. Brampton Community Association, through the Project Board overseeing the new development, has been seeking to clarify what will and will not be included. The Association is seeking assurances about the future of all the current and potential facilities on the Irthing Centre site. These include a performance area to replace the Hall, a youth centre to replace the exiting Annexe, an arts and crafts facility to replace the Wooden Hut, the Brampton Business Centre facilities, and the space to build a swimming pool in the future. It may be that none of these will be included in the new development. The Association is particularly concerned about replacing existing facilities because one of the site that might be used for the new building is the Irthing Centre site, where the Community Centre and the Business Centre are located. Putting the development of this site would mean the exiting facilities being demolished. How much the Health & Care project can accommodate should be determined in the next few weeks. At the same time, the provision of the other facilities needs to be clear too. The Neighbourhood Forum is the place to express your concern, and seek assurances about the future of all community facilities in Brampton. 7PM ON MONDAY 15 SEPTEMBER AT BRAMPTON JUNIOR SCHOOL |
