Brampton became a Fairtrade Town in early 2005, following three years of hard work to raise the commitment to use, sell or serve Fairtrade products across all areas of life in the town.

The Fairtrade Mark is an independent certification which guarantees that the producer receives a fair price for their goods and is not exploited.  Many products with the Fairtrade Mark can be bought in Brampton.  Look out for the wonderful range in our Co-op.  They are also sold in Halfmoon Wholefoods and served in Off The Wall, Lanercost Cafe, and Talkin Tarn.

All Brampton's churches, schools and many of the local businesses and organisations now use Fairtrade coffee, tea and other products.  Our group is working to encourage even more businesses and organisations to use Fairtrade products and more of our shops and cafes to sell or serve them.  If interested, we can provide details of wholesalers and help you to source Fairtrade goods easily (email cmallan4@hotmail.co.uk as above)
