Information
The Trust works, with others, in a wide geographical area that embraces Brampton and the surrounding area covered by 21 Parish Councils. It has a growing membership which it is anticipated will become more active over the coming year.

In addition to sustaining and developing the Brampton Community Centre site and its facilities, the Trust has a number of priorities including liaison and networking with Village Halls in the geographical area and the development of strong communications with members, other organisations and with Parish, District and County Councils.

This website is only part of our plans to develop stronger communications. The website, and more importantly, the underlying database of groups and events, is the leading element of a Strategic Development Plan for the whole community. The database is not only used to drive this website, it is also used as a source for other website, magazine, newspaper, newsletter, leaflet and notice board publishers all across our area.

If your group and events are not featured somewhere in this website... then please get in touch and we'll show you how to be part of it. It's very easy and quick to do. And it'll save you heaps of time because we arrange for the distribution of your copy-text and photos to all the other publishers in our area!

Enable local people to work together to identify local needs and solutions, and to create opportunities that promote environmental, economic and social wellbeing.


PRINCIPLES

Brampton & Beyond Community Trust will work together in accordance with the following principles. We will:-
  • Serve and promote the economic, social and environmental needs of the area by being available to help to strengthen the local economy, to meet the social and individual needs of its residents, and to encourage sustainable ways of living, in keeping with the adoption of rigorous environmental sustainability standards in the Trust's own operations.
  • Help to localise the economy by providing high quality jobs and volunteering opportunities in those areas of the economy where the community's needs are not being met or its long term sustainability is at risk.
  • Work with others who are seeking to achieve the same objectives by co-ordination and integration of projects and services and acting in partnership when volunteer capacity or capability is limited or when the involvement of professional organisations will deliver an accelerated outcome for the Trust and the community.
  • Operate in accordance with good business practice by ensuring the Trust receives dependable advice on the business cases of its projects and services, and adopts a financially sound business strategy which accumulates assets for the community.
  • Adopt an open and inclusive approach to its activities by encouraging membership of the Trust, communicating with the community as a whole, enabling residents and key organisations to develop their capabilities and participate in the development of the Trust's work, being a good employer and by involving staff in developing the business.

STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN

This website is only part of our plans to develop the community. In October 2011, the Trust adopted a Strategic Development Plan for Brampton and Beyond.
