Claiming to be the oldest village hall in England, the hall dates from the 13th century and was donated to the people of Lanercost by the Earl and Lady of Carlisle in 1952. The hall has undergone major refurbishment in the last ten years, making it a beautiful place to hold a large family event. The hall boasts some beautiful features, such as open beamed roof, dimmable lighting and carefully restored pieces of wall paintings, which are one of very few still in existence today from that period.
